Hey I'm just wondering if any of you are full time IMers that travel the world. If you do where have you lived? Where was the coolest place?

I'm still very young but I think it would be a ton of fun working from online and traveling the world. Hearing experiences from people that do this would be really inspiring. :)

I'm not really an "IMer". Most people would refer to me as a "ghostwriter".

I'm from Mauritius, but I've "worked online" in London, Paris, Budapest, Szeged, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bucharest and probably a few more places that I forgot about :)

Yupp, I've been doing IM full time & traveling for the last 4 years consistently, straight out of High School.. With-in the States(NYC/NJ/VA-DC/WI/ND), I've also resided in Morocco(6 months couple beach front properties) Spain( 2 months in Madrid) Italy(1 1/2 months Reggio Emilia-Bolgonia) France, just to name a few.. Other than ways to make more money, I believe traveling is the best way one can spend their income.

I traveled 4 years out of the past 8 years doing IM with a few offline (websites) clients.

Mostly 3rd world countries because I wasn't making so much in the beginning.

I have been to Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Columbia, Venezuela, Peru, Switzerland, France, Spain, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Cambodia. I am from Texas.

Passed through a couple others but I don't count them. Lived over 30 days in most of these places.

My favorites are the islands off Honduras, Nicaragua, and Malaysia. Nothing to do but drink and relax. Internet sucks on the islands but you are not really in the mood to spend much time online anyway.

Traveling is like Disney Land for grownups, tons of fun and you gain a perspective hard to get otherwise.

Sounds tempting but do you guys feel comfortable traveling alone? It'd be very hard to do so without my buds

It gets easier the more you travel. Going at it solo frees you up for all sorts of things that *YOU* want to do. No one there to complain or suggest otherwise. Most times you'll find another fellow wandering traveler, and hang out for a few days or week until you go your separate ways. The hardest part is unclipping the safety net and jumping in.

I travelled Asia and Australia alone a few years ago at the age of 21ish. Spent a year alone before getting really stuck into business.

It was an amazing experience. You learn a lot about yourself and mature. Hostel life is brilliant. Not to mention random encounters of the night...

Was way happier as a person back then I think.

Recently went to China alone too, but was a business trip. Still had great times.

    Do it now!

Yes. I love travelling alone because actually you decide everything. I get a bit bored at the hotel if I am alone though but you can always go outside at least to engage in a small talk to don´t feel too alone. Also, it is cheaper than if you are going with someone else but have to pay their parts, most of my friends work or study and don´t have the same freedom I do, so I understand if they don´t travel with me.

This is something I would definitely like to do once I get older. My question is how you deal with the foreign language barrier in places in Asia and stuff.

How long did it take you guys to learn a foreign language?

I would love to go live in Japan someday.
