Anyone here willing to offer tips on my home page. I'm not on the top of page 1 yet for rankings so I can't yet assess from data how well it performs.

I'd be curious to hear if going more minimal helps or if my selling points are good to keep above the best selling products.

If you answer please be an established member as I would only show my site to one or two people at most.

Thanks!

Right off the top I can tell you this, if your site isn't fast enough you are bleeding conversions. For each extra millisecond it takes for your page to load you lose percentages off your conversion rate. Thats an easy fit, so you can start by speeding up load times.

Thanks. My site does load fast. A month or two ago I optimized all images on my site so it loads fast. We did add to our homepage though a few key points why customers can trust our site vs. a competitor as compared to only having a slider and product list on the page. It's hard to judge whether it converts better this way or not yet as I don't have enough visitors yet.

This question require a lot of testing before giving you the right answer

How many visitors are you actually getting right now? If it's very small, you should be more focused on increasing the traffic vs. increasing the CTR or sales.

Of course it's important but REALITY has a way of floating to the top in the business world. You can't eat before you make the meal. You can answer all your questions down the road when you have traffic and you can split test numerous pages, etc.

STEP 1 - GET TRAFFIC.

One step at a time. Good luck.

This is correct. You need lots of data, lots of visitors so that an coincidences won't effect percentages highly. If you only get 50 visits a day its going to be hard to play off those percentages.

Install crazy egg, see what your visitors are doing and tweak your design to point your users in the right direction.

Thanks yall. My visitor rate is pretty small now, I'm working on getting my rankings up. I guess I'll wait till I have a lot more traffic to assess my home page. I also use the program mouseflow which I think is similar to crazy egg, so I do adjust product pages or content sometimes depending on how visitors react to it.

When you've maxed out your traffic ceiling then playing with the site will be more useful, yep.
