I got pretty fuckin sick of London. And since I make my money online, and I have no wife or kids, I booked a ticket, packed my shit, and two days later I was in Madrid!

That was a few weeks ago. I had never been before - but I love it here - best decision I've ever made. Spain's going through an economically tough time, but if you're earning in dollars like I do, maaaan you're laughing. Rent in central Madrid is cheaper than zone 5 London. Also, I'll be honest, my three main expenditures are food, boozing and weed. Now I'm spending 1/3 of what I was spending in the UK. And I can go out at 11pm and still have 4 hours of casual night life (I'm not talking clubs, just bog standard average bars). Transport is cheap, taxis are dirt cheap, and a million other things - it's just a different way of life here.

Even if you're earning just $50 a day, that's like 1200 euro a month. You'll find a room right in the center for 400, and 800 is enough to get by on. Compare that to living within the M25, even in a shithole like say, Feltham, your monthly budget would run out after a week.

So, any members here living in Madrid?

Dude, you didn't escape from Feltham Young Offenders Institution, did you?

    j/k
Sounds like you are having a great adventure.
I am stuck in another shithole within the M25.
If I didn't have the Wife and Kid, then I would definitely do something similar.

I have a friend in Madrid, so it helped to stay at his place rather than a hotel. Also, I'm more of a city person, I like the seaside of course but usually as a holiday, and I think a seaside town is quiet when it's out of season! But yeah my main reason was just to gtfo London, and Madrid seemed cool enough :)

Hahaha naaaa, but yeah I know where you live, um, Wilson, it's not so bad there!

But yes, it's a long overdue adventure tbh. I'm in my 30s now and the last few years I had a couple of brick & mortar businesses which really tied me down. Eventually everything went tits up, and this is the first time I've been free. It's all good though mate, never too late you know, kids grow up eventually!
