I just recently started my first niche site, or, sort of a niche site. It has a variety of niches. Anyway, I planned for it to primarily be a user-content generated site where users would submit articles to me and I would review, edit, and post them. In exchange the author would recieve their picture and their name along with a link to their website or blog at the bottom of the article page. I also have a special page just for authors. Other than a contest, which I'm already trying:

How can I put this cycle into effect?
Authors want to go where there are visitors and visitors want to go where there are authors. I myself am a terrible blogger/copywriter. What are my options for getting an authors list of smiling faces writing witty content for me? Should I just keep amassing plr and cheap iwriter content until I build up some sort of traffic?

Either choose personal friends, hire people, or make up fake aliases to be authors. To get your site off the ground, you could monetize the articles, so you pay a small amount to writers and get loads of material published on your site. On top of that, you could get ads on google or bing. There's plenty of ways for this to work, you just need an investment and some time.

Thanks for such a fast response! Ironically enough I am arranging for some friends to write for me, and I do have a voucher for google ads but I'm tentative to use it until I'm sure I'm set up right...
As far as monetizing the articles I was putting affiliate links into my plr stuff and I did plan to have ads...but how do I keep track of that and pay the authors?

Also, how to go about fake aliases with picture, link and all without getting caught? Would I have to set up a private blog network of sorts?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

I think setting up your blog network can be not so profitable as you may think. I mean all the costs related to buying domains and creating schemes to avoid been banned by Google. IMO better hire a team of people that could do these blogs - copywriters or bloggers (without creating a network). Here are some theme related researches (for and against PBNs):

What do you think of them? Appreciate any help because I am always interested in new info about this.
