Yesterday I attempted to do a 301 redirect from my www site to my non www site. After a few hours, I noticed sites on the same hosting account that have dropped rankings. Even sites that haven't moved in months.

I read about how a 301 redirect can affect all of your subdomains and sub folders,
So I think thats what happened to mess up my sites. I've since turned off the redirect and reverted the files to a backup from a few days ago and my sites still haven't gained back their rankings. Do I need to manually create an htaccess file and make sure the www and non www redirect to the same place for all of my sites or what would be the best way to proceed?
