It seems that all people would have to do is to start using residential IP's instead of IP's from datacenters that services like netflix, hulu and other websites can easily discover.

A little vague since lots of people VPN to work and then use work to browse the internet. :D

What happens when I live in Oz but I VPN to work to an American company and browse the Internet. Sounds like it would then make it illegal. lol

They aren't going to ban that, they are going to allow for companies to file an injunction that would ban people in Aus from connecting to that IP.

The Internet has gone to shit since FB got housewives to spend their days playing Farmville, spamming forum profiles and article submissions were considered "Internet marketing," politicians want to tax, rule outlaw and everything else that deals with the web, and the answer to "bullying" online became anything other then "go outside dumbass"

I can't understand the VPN-piracy argument. fractured markets is bullshit. If I'm paying to use a legitimate, legal service (ie: netflix) ITS NOT PIRACY!!! They're just trying to associate it with piracy so they can keep screwing people by charging more for things in some countries than in others, even if these things are digital and don't cost a dime more to deliver.

Im glad I don't live in Australia. Looks like a nice country, but the only time I hear about it is because the citizens are angry again about how they're getting ripped off.

Hopefully it would be easier to prevent this one since only an idiot would want to be screwed out of 82 of the top 100 netflix shows. Protecting the Children argument is much easier for the government to get things passed under.
