Welcome to my journey to $200/day!

As stated in the title, my goal with this journey is to reach $200 a day using a combination of an authority site and PPD/CPA/Amazon sites. I know it sounds like too many things to work on, but it'll be done one at a time. Baby steps, people!

It'd probably be easier to achieve this goal if I focused on one method, but I'm in it for the long term. I only started IM a few months ago and I want to focus on developing my skills.

What have I done so far?

    • A blog related to my university program and studies
      • No prior keyword research done
      • More of a personal type of website
      • An adsense ad in the side bar (300x250) making me about $150 so far
    • A PPD focused site on a trending topic - Fat Santa
      • Created less than a week ago
      • Little keyword research done but it's not very competitive
      • Main design is completed with banner and logo
      • Promoted with Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter (addmefast)
      • Traffic from social media, direct and referral
      • Two posts with PPD link in the second one
    Tools
    • GSA and Captcha Breaker
      • Haven't touched (bought on impulse during Black Friday sale)
    • VPS (1 gig ram with addmefast script running 24/7)
    • TheBestSpinner
      • Spinning articles manually using Mathew Woodward's technique
      • Auto spinning GSA SER campaigns
    • Scrapebox (not bought yet)
      • Tier 3 backlinks
      • Keyword scraper and image scraper for spinning
      • Checking competitor backlinks
    • TheBestSpinner
    • Private Proxies (10 proxies)
      • Account creation (Gmail, Web2.0s, etc.)
      • For GSA SER and Scrapebox

I haven't bought TheBestSpinner, Scrapebox or private proxies. Once I begin off-site SEO and backlinks, I'll look into them one by one.

    Game plan
I am starting a new authority site for the long-term, but focusing on PPD sites for the short-term. After reaching success with PPD, I'll incorporate CPA methods and eventually move on to Amazon.

    Authority Site - Big Daddy:

    • Bought a keyword service for the authority site
      • An example of good keyword selection
      • No chances with the keyword
      • Makes ranking and backlinking easier in the long-run
    • Can't continue work until I receive the keywords this Wednesday
    PPD Site - Fat Santa:
    • Write more posts on long-tail keywords
    • Tier 1 Link building (Manual)
      • First Web2.0
        • Write the article that will be spun
        • Customize the design
        • Buy TheBestSpinner, rewatch Matthew Woodward's advanced article spinning video
      • Social Bookmarks - Gather a list of social bookmarks in preparation for tier 2 campaign
      • Buy and use Scrapebox to scrape link targets
    Side notes:

    • No backlink building on authority site (at least for now)
      • Going to refine these skills on the smaller PPD sites
    • I might outsource the authority site content
      • If it's a niche I'm particularly interested in, I'll write the content myself
      • If not then I will outsource it to a service in the BST
I'm flying back home for the holidays and I won't be able to start until Wednesday. I plan on working from 7am to 4pm (or later) with no bullshit in between those hours. Until I arrive back home, I'll be reading up on some keyword researching. It seems like the most important step when it comes to IM.

I'm open to any suggestions or criticisms, the more the better! The next update will be Wednesday night!

    Update!

I pretty much spent the entire day yesterday spinning an article for my web2.0s. I can see why many of you guys here dread manual spinning. I haven't added images or video yet, but so far I've spun it in a way that it still makes sense. The uniqueness is around 75% and up, so it's not too bad. Adding the other stuff won't take too long.

    Srapebox
I was trying to buy scrapebox and use it in conjonction with TheBestSpinner for the image and keyword scrapper but I'm having a few problems with the paypal transaction. So for now, I'm gonna do it the old fashion way... saves me money I guess.

I got my keywords for my authority site. It looks pretty good. I'm still debating on outsourcing the content but that seems too expensive. I'll search through the BST for a content source and if I like it, I'll probably go for it.

    Plans for today:
Finish spinning this article for Fat Santa, customize the look of each of its web2.0 and schedule postings (I think I can do this through TheBestSpinner... but I'll look into that)

I'm also gonna buy a domain for BigDaddy and choose a layout. If I have time, I'll start designing a logo or banner.

    Update!

    Fat Santa
Finished spinning today. I customized the web2.0 with a banner and three pages, home contact and about. There are 20 posts scheduled daily and I divided the spins among the other web2.0s. I uploaded a video with the site url in the beginning and end, as well as the link in the description. I'm getting a bunch of views off of that.

    Big Daddy
I picked out a domain for the authority site. Rather than going for and EMD or a partial EMD, I went with more of a brand name. I installed all the plugins I needed and sorted out stuff like analytics, cloudflare, akismet and total cache. I picked out a theme, going with genesis and a child theme.

I searched through the BST and found a good source for articles. I'll be ordering 30 articles from them for now. Once I get the hang of building these web2.0s and spinning, as well as the other off-site SEO stuff, I'll begin writing the articles myself.

Paypal is still being stupid and it won't let me buy scrapebox. I tried the verification for it and now waiting for their deposit to see if it can change.

    Tomorrow:
    Buy proxies
Add more articles to web2.0s and begin GSA tier 2 campaigns (slowly) for the first web2.0 I made today and my social bookmarks
    Try buying scrapebox
Work on logo and design for Big Daddy

    $0 made... but I'm learning a lot
This is going to be a long journey...

    Update!

Unfortunately, I didn't get as much done as I wanted to today due to Christmas shopping. I got proxies and finally got Scrapebox, but after attempting to harvest some URLs, the program kept on crashing on my VPS. I'm guessing the VPS isn't fast enough, so I upgraded a little bit.

Coordinated a bit with the guys handling the content for Big Daddy. They look very promising and I'm making sure the content is to my liking in regards to quality, seeing as I'm going for an authority site for this one.

Haven't worked much on Fat Santa. I still need to customize the other web2.0s, add the articles, and start my tier 2 and 3 campaign.

I've been reading a lot on the GSA SER forums in preparation for tomorrow. For the most part, I know what I'm doing. I'm planning to use Scrapebox in conjunction with SER (scraping urls then importing into SER).

Logo and banner for Big Daddy still needs to be worked on. It shouldn't take too long since I already have it laid out in my head. I'm pretty decent at photoshop so I should be able to whip up something by tomorrow.

I'm gonna try and wake up early and get as much done as I can. I might be out for the majority of the day to catch up with some old friends of mine.

Well this is awkward, I haven't updated this in a long time.

I decided to ditch my little PPD experiments to focus on my authority website (taking out the codename "Big Daddy").

It looks very promising right now.
I have 10 posts up and running and I'm getting about 100 visitors a day. I've been posting daily and have 20 posts left from my article writers. I will change posting to 3 times a week now.

I'm doing social media for the site each day. Communication wise, I'm focusing on Twitter and Pinterest. Some people started to follow my pins and I started tweeting at people, getting responses and traffic from both.

I'm using addmefast to bump up the likes/follows on my Facebook/Twitter page, and soon gonna use it to bump up my repins and follows on Pinterest.

All my backlinking has been done on social networks/bookmarks. One thing that most people forget is getting your Pinterest verified for a nice do-follow link.

I've done Google authorship setup. This is really important and helps your ranking

I have each post wired so that it gets published on my Twitter and Google+ page. I have adsense in the beginning of the content of each post (i believe it's better like this than the side bar... more clicks or w.e)

I'm gonna post my backlinking strategy soon. I'll keep this posted.

Goal is still $200 but only with this authority site.

    Backlinking strategy
    1. Build 10 high quality web2.0s - customized templates, layouts, images, and some .css changes
Three pages: Home, About Us, Contact
The names of these pages are varied as well, e.g. about us = what are we about = what to know more about us? etc.
    3 web2.0s per account/ip

    2. Scrapebox'ing article and wiki targets for tier 1
Filtering out for only PR3+ and less than 50 OBL

Manually spin an article à la Matthew Woodward to post in Tier 1

Web2.0s are entirely manual; Articles and Wiki will be inputted into GSA with my MANUALLY spun article /w images/video

I'll go more on my tiered linking later on... and more about my web2.0 strategy.

I figured I'd update since this article spinning is killing me. I'll add some info on my web2.0s.

I'm planning to add 10 posts to each of them with image and video spun into it. The trick is to make it readable for EVERY SPUN. So that a person can read it and it makes sense, both meaning and grammatically.

The only downfall is that it's pretty much the same article saying the same thing 10 times. That's what you get with article spinning, I guess.

What I'm doing now, which I haven't before, is separating them in paragraphs so that it looks a lot cleaner. What I've done before was just a big block of text with some video and images punched in. Didn't look nature at all.

I have all my web2.0s set right now and simply spinning this article atm. I scraped high quality targets for article links from scrapebox. Currently scraping for wikis atm, with the same filters: PR 3+ and less than 50 OBL.

Afterwards, I'm gonna blast those with tier 2 and tier 3 (GSA).

It might be going overboard, but I'll do mass blog commenting on auto approve sites with scrapebox: tier 4.

I might even replace tier 3 GSA with scrapebox. We'll see.

All this should be enough to rank the website on first place. It's a bit extreme since these keywords aren't that competitive. But whatever...

It's also a bit risky using tier 1 with GSA. Although, I don't see much of a difference of doing it manually since I'm using scrapebox for the targets and filtering it for only high quality links.

I haven't done this yet, so if you have a good argument against it, let me know... before it's too late haha

This is turning out to be more like a blog haha. Sometimes I feel like no one's reading this but I'm still continuing anyway!

After some time, I finally finished spinning my article with videos and images. I did some on page optimization and noindexed some pages using PHPbuilt's thread, definitely worth checking out btw.

For the Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest accounts, I've been using addmefast to add a couple hundred followers. It's worth noting that I'm keeping it filtered at Canada and USA followers. There's a lot of stupid people out there that put their real accounts on there so it's worth taking advantage of.

I bought Pinblaster since it was on sale a few days ago so I'm gonna learn how to use that today.

Up until now, I've been posting everyday but I'm changing that to three times a week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday. That way, I can prolong buying new articles and still maintain a posting schedule (very important, shows your authority to google).

I'm a bit hesitant on building these backlinks to the site. For my past sites, I usually use a combination of web2.0s and GSA (with PR+ and less than 50 OBL... and even scrapebox urls)... these I generally use for tier 1. However, for now, I'm just gonna use my 10 unique web2.0s and build a tiered structure on that. If anything goes wrong, I can just delete those tiers and it shouldn't affect my money site at all.

I haven't started tracking my keywords yet... but I can already tell it's ranked in the top 100 already. Been getting a few search referrals here and there from both bing and google. This is a good sign because it tells you that you're doing on-page seo correctly (and your keyword research is good).

As a rule of thumb, if you're not ranking within the top100 with just on page seo, I'd look into your on-page before building backlinks. If it doesn't click afterwards, then it's probably because your keywords are more competitive than you thought it was. At this point it's better to move on because from then on, it will be an upwards battle and a money-sink.

    -

For today, I'll be putting 10 posts on schedule for each web2.0, the last post being one with a link to my website and a link to a wikipedia page. I'll put them in GSA with ******** contextual backlinks in tiers, with social bookmarks, networks, etc. pointing to them. The trick is to not build tiers on social bookmarks and other non-contextual links.

The keyword research is pretty well down, so after a month... I should be ranked on the first page for 90% of the keywords with just that. But I'll leave it at that for now...

    Man... authoritative websites are TOUGH.
I've built 10 web2.0s and scheduled posts for two weeks. The last post has my link on it. I've already started tiered linking on GSA.

Site is about a month old so I know things are still early, but it's getting tiring lol.

I'm focusing a lot of my time on Google+, Pinterest and Facebook... mostly Pinterest. I'm hoping that if I stick to this long term, that it'll pay off later on in 2014.

Things are slow right now cause I still don't have many links to the site. I think I have maybe 1-2 but the majority of my web2.0s are scheduled in a way where my link isn't posted for a while... I figured this is safer.

So for now I'm focusing on social media since it's a big factor nowadays.
Time to get back to work!

Good luck with this mate, think I'll be keeping an eye on this.

I've got a few Amazon sites that earn a few quid every month, but nothing to write home about.
