I searched all over this forum and google and couldn't find a way to hide my referrer.
I'm setting Rewrite rule on a picture to redirect to an affiliate link.
I think I tried every method out the with no luck.
When I set rewrite rule to a php with a header redirect, referrer is kept
When I set rewrite rule to an html with iframe/meta refresh, html code is not executed. Same with javascript.

Is there anything else I can try?

AFAIK it can't be done with an image tag on a remote site, the browser controls the referrer...

I haven't tested this, but perhaps you could force the Content-Type header to be text/x-html or text/html?

Just pass the through an ssl site with a redirect to a nonssl page.
SSL->Redirect->NONSSL works for IE...

You can use other peoples open redirects! google

ok it worked for ie like you said

For anyone who is wondering, im doing

Site with a pic -> Rewrite rule to https redirect -> Affil link

It shows no referrer on IE

Yeah but for what do you use this? No-Referer would look a little bit sucpicios to Affiliates.

Even though some people on here said it shouldn't be a problem, I kinda agree with you. But it's a good thing to know how to do it, especially if you got tons of traffic when you can bury those "direct" clicks.

That's totally inaccurate. There are literally 100s of reasons your referrer will be blank for white hat reasons.

I've sent no less than 10 million blank referrer clicks to all of my networks and affiliate merchants and never once had a question about my blank referrers.

Wow screaming thats lot of clicks if even 1% of those clicks convert you would make some nice bank.

You can mix traffic, buy some cheap traffic or proxy traffic...

Hey Guys,

I tried searching the posts ... but couldn't find a good resource....
I'm trying to hide my referring affiliate code.....do you have a suggestion?

<a href=http://www.fling.com/enter.php?prg=1&id=affiliate code&t=best&ad_id=820x760_1.jpg><img src=http://promos.fling.com/static/images/820x760_1.jpg width=804 height=802></a>

That's the actual ad.....

I'm just posting classified ads, so no landing page, just a direct link to the date site...

Double meta refresh... Do a search for it, it's been discussed several times. Genjutsu has a DMR service he's offering.

thanks xim,

if I may bother someone here with a dumb question. It sounds like the double meta refresh requires landing pages, or something akin to having more than a single page.

I think my question is two fold....

If I'm placing a classified ad, it seems as though there is only a single location on classified site to place an ad rather than a multiple page option? any suggestion within the confines of a traditional classified site?

I've clicked on some classified ads like on and it doesn't even really land you on the ad, but instead takes you right to an external landing page..any suggestions on where I might be able to get any free templates for your basic single page landing sales pages? (hope that made sense)

I i buy some traffic will i still need to blank my referrer?

Thanks:)

Yeah, better to be safe than sorry. You will not know the sources of your traffic. Might just be untargetted junk.
