    PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti - A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti on
Wednesday morning, shaking buildings and sending screaming people
running into the streets only eight days after the country's capital
was devastated by an apocalyptic quake.

Let's hope there is not as much damage as the last one...

Anyone who lives in earthquake areas knows all too well that when there is one big quake, there are always aftershocks. That is what this was. Unfortunately, there will almost certainly be more aftershocks. They can last for weeks.

Not meaning to hijack the thread but what's equally as horrible is the complete clusterfuck down there with trying to get supplies and meds distributed and getting doctors to come in! Doctors who are flying in are being diverted to the DR and having to drive up to 10 hours to get there to help people. So many people are going to die of infection when it is unnecessary.

imo, the area needs to be under marital law until the government can get it together. that's probably what would happen anywhere else. the looting/crime going on down there is normal human behavior. which is why this kind of control needs to be put in place to protect rescue efforts and the people.
