Another 30 Day Challenge
For some random reason I've decided to put myself to a 30 Day Challenge (like Chris did a few months ago, which was the inspiration for me to give it a go). My current streams of IM income are dwindling due to a number of reasons (CL crackdowns over the past year, seasonality of my primary niche, having to make changes to prevent copyright infringement on my sites, etc, etc). In addition, the recent shocks to the economy made me reevaluate my situation and decide to come up with ways to put my eggs into a few extra baskets, so to speak. I may or may not put up a blog (at least a blog that I will be posting my thoughts on this experiment), but will definitely post on this thread.
The Goal:
To create 5 streams of income each producing $50 / day. This comes out to about $7.5K a month, give or take. Although it sounds like a lot, I don't think that this number is completely unreachable in 30 days. We'll see.
Why?
Who knows - boredeom, ego, a chance to connect with like-minded individuals - as long as the bills are paid, my wife doesn't care about how the sausage gets made, so to speak.
Who am I?
I don't want to discuss my day job (middle management in Corporate America), but I have been marketing online for about a year. I started because I had a lot of books I wanted to sell, and found that Amazon books was a great place to get rid of them. I then became an Amazon affiliate, moved to direct linking to Amazon via Google PPC (I actually made a small amount of money doing this), then on to greener pastures. My undergraduate degree is in computer science, and even though I don't do it much I'm still a decent developer (mostly .NET; not too much web programming). I've done CL, PPC, CPA, Affiliate sales (like CB), Amazon, EPN, and probably a few other things, with varying amounts of success (or failure), and in a lot of areas (keyword tracking, profitable list building) I certainly have a lot to learn.
What am I going to do?
Again, who knows? Like every marketer, I have more ideas than time. This will give me a chance to kick start a handful of methods that I've been sitting on. I'll discuss a bit of what I'm doing, but don't want to inspire too many copycats too quickly. Fortunately, I have a fair amount of resources, so if I decide on a certain approach I can commit money and time to it. Time is my biggest constraint (job, family, etc), so approaches that scale are key. I prefer white hat over black hat, but will likely tackle projects at both ends of the spectrum.
I really don't know where this is going to go. I may get tired of trying to obtain an admittedly lofty goal, at least publicly. Climb in and hang on!
