I will be launching an app for my website which is getting around 1000 uniques daily. This will be an android app. So I have 2 versions of the app - Lite and Pro. I will be looking at about 10,000-20,000 installs per year. I will price my Pro app at £2. This version will have no ads and more features. Now for the lite version, should that contain any ads, considering I am looking for 10,000 installs ( They will be active UK only users) ? How much can you earn from these ads? I keep hearing that people only get 2$ a day from ads, so I think why should I bother having ads? I will be using admob If I decide to have ads. Any tips on ranking the app also welcome. I was going to simply have a page on my website telling android users to support us and buy the app. They can also try out the free version first.

I'd go for a 'no ads' experience with your app. If the income is not significant then its not worth it IMO.
If the app/site gets popular, then you could add the ads. Like every other Social Network situation, once they get big, they get ads, in a smaller scale in you case.

I think I am looking at 1000 active users daily. Is that serious money through admob?

with no ads I guess you should be a hit... as ads bug a lot these days and this is a good move to have an app without any ads... Phew!!! some relief :)
