So i found a site that keeps deleting my comments because I'm placing a link. Would a link that I disguise as a period still give me the same boost or will it hurt my rankings because google doesn't like it when you hide links? any thoughts on this?

Have you tried using names of people as anchor text?

Why don't you move on and forget the site?

a dot link is kind of low quality or useless, use anchor text better with your keyword.
what is the site page rank and is it a blog post you commeting on?

Its not really a blog. Its actually a PR 6 site that allows comments on its faq and contact us page. kinda weird. But i'm trying hard to get it because its a ********.

Are there other comments with links? It might just be the link period, excuse the pun. If they are using software to simply detect links, you might be able to use that to your advantage, by simply using a malformed link (text only, no hyperlinking) , but for SEO it might be worthless, other than secondary keywording and live site traffic. If the site is big enough, there might be live traffic to be had, don't pass it up just for G's sake.
