Hello all,
I just discovered that a particular site I'm working on has been over optimized for a certain anchor text. All other keywords are on #1-#4 on page one of Google.
But this particular one bounces between page two and three without bulging despite all Off-page activities done to it.
How would you think I should dilute the anchor? The anchor currently stands at 20% while those of my main competitors are less than 10%. I'm thinking of either:
1. Getting a new related domain name and redirecting it to it. ( The anchor was overused on the homepage, this might be seen as a soft 404 by Google)
2. Getting a sitewide link
3. Building more backlinks with a different anchor ( This will definitely take a lot of time)
Kindly help with suggestions.
