2. Screaming Frog SEO Spider

The
Screaming Frog SEO Spider is a small desktop program you can install on your PC or Mac which spiders websites’ links, images, CSS, script and apps from an SEO perspective. It fetches key onsite page elements for SEO, presents them in tabs by type and allows you to filter for common SEO issues, or slice and dice the data how you see fit by exporting into Excel. You can view, analyse and filter the crawl data as it’s gathered and updated continuously in the program’s user interface.

The standard ‘Lite’ version of the tool is completely free, however this version is limited to crawling a maximum of 500 URI and it does not give you full access to the configuration options of the spider or the custom source code feature.

What a superb post, some very useful tools on here.

The CuteRank software has surprised me. Ive been running a test using SERPFox, SE Scout, Microsite masters, Rank Tracker, Rank Checker for Firefox for one of my sites to test the accuracy, and having just added the site into Cuterank id say its the most accurate. Ive just checked each keyword (10) using the Yoast plugin to depersonalise the results and Cuterank is no more than 1 - 3 places either way so im impressed so far.

The firefox plugin by Yoast is another beauty, Im sick of clearing my cache or using VPN to check results.

All in all, a top post. Many thanks.

Entire businesses could be built utilizing just 1 or 2 of these free tools, and I guarantee they have been :)

Awesome share dude -- very generous share!

In that spirit I will add one more:

www.Socialmention.com -- A free reputation management tool to search anyone, any brand, or anything -- social mention goes out into the interwebs and compiles data from social media, PR sources, search engines, blogs, bookmarking services, and more about mentions of your search request.

In conjunction with some of the tools above, I use this to research to wow potential clients with what i know before they ever tell me a thing about them.

Rock on Swetech
