This is a fund raiser to create a new kind of Open Source decentralized peer to peer Ad Server that we all can use freely without paying out to Google, Rubicon Project, Pubmatic, Rocketfuel, iAds, or any other entity trying to take a huge profit off your advertising impressions. Be they mobile or desktop. Conceptually, it's similar to bittorrent, except that you are torrenting ad impressions, ad demand and payments instead of data bits.

    Code:
    indiegogo.com/projects/fund-dadf-open-ad-server/
The project is seeking to raise 10k to accomplish this, and will run for 45 days.

And you need 10k for what exactly? You would get more support here if you had more posts and if you were clearer on your objective with a video or graphic. You should show something you completed before asking for 10k.

    Good luck.

Hi Kideze. The protocol is at
    Code:
    dadf.org
The 10k is to get programming work done to create and finish a PHP/Zend Framework based Ad Server around that protocol and specification.
phpAds has been taken over and the banner ad market was shut down to the public by venture capitalists.
    Ref:
    Code:
    forum.openx.org/index.php?showtopic=503520097
So there is a need, not only for new technology that's more up2date, but for a return to open source ad serving.

NX NULL, OpenX isn't just the evolution of phpAds anymore.
    Code:
    crunchbase.com/company/openx
    VENTURE FUNDING TOTAL $73M

Not only is the code base old, badly written, and completely obsolete, it's no longer aimed to make your life as a blogger, webmaster or user any better.

The Venture Cap people bought phpAds, renamed it OpenX, then used the data to find the top ad inventory providers and the top buyers. Then when they got that data, they cherry picked those top users, and shut the service down to everyone else. There will never be an improvement to it that will make sense to somebody trying to make money running an ad server again. Heck, they won't even ever let you use the exchange again unless you were one of those top people with tens of millions of impressions daily.

So this bittorrent-like tech is a way to decentralize not only the technology, by making it open source GPL v2, but by making the actual network decentralized as well with trackers and nodes of ad servers not tethered to one single marketplace, but rather powered by each other.

Think about it this way: What if OpenX was an IRC server and nobody else could get cool stuff from IRC bit transfers unless they used that IRC server?
Then one day, somebody published a RFC spec for IRC, with an Open source IRC server/client and everybody could start using it freely?
With IRC or bittorrent, that doesn't need to happen because it was built that way from the ground up. Banner and mobile advertising was not. This aims to fix that and give everybody a fair shot.

People spin up a P2P ad server and connect to others and their inventory and demand from local merchants starts torrenting around.

So you are going to make an ad market place on a p2p platform and an open source ad serving software?

Not sure how it going to works, Is there any demo available to have a look on it?
