I just tried to buy a book on amazon and it says they will charge me tax? WTF? since when does amazon charge tax?
It's bad enough the book is $200 and its bad enough it will be worth 1 cent in a few weeks since they will change the edition - AGAIN.

I dont want to pay fucking $20 in tax.

Are you in the EU? The EU changed the rules for ebooks on the 1st Jan meaning they have to account for taxation now.

If a seller is located in a state where they require them to account for sales tax then you must pay it.

You can go around this by finding another seller of the same item who won't charge you because they aren't in a taxable state.

    Its nothing new.

You realize it's not Amazon per se that started charging you tax. Your state started imposing sales tax on Amazon sales in your state (due to Nexus laws) and so they're passing that on to you.
