Already posted on here. I doubt they will go through and do anything to any individual though as that would be 1100+ cases and that would cost them a lot in time and money. But it is because of their reputation so who knows?

Dunno, as someone who buys quite a lot on amazon and likes to do research before i purchase something, i think it's awesome that Amazon tries to sweep out all fake reviews.

Sucks cause it seems like a lot of sellers got their funds withheld by fiverr. I guess this is something you should expect when you sell these sorts of black hat services.

it's an interesting question what will happen to the funds which weren't withdrawn by the sellers yet, because i can't really imagine fiverr crediting it back to the buyers, it wouldn't be too fair to tell the truth, i don't think that they will pocket it either, it would be too obvious, so maybe the sellers will get it after all

Amazon is fucking elite. I was reading about them as a business and its pretty much a male dominated space where you only get promoted based off how well you do versus any quotas, public appearance etc. Even the CEO came under fire for not hiring enough women and basically said they'd hire more/stay longer if they proved themselves. Amazon also recently overtook Walmart as the number 1 retailer.

So in short, I do indeed believe they are going to go after every single fake reviewer they can. They don't seem to play around and they certainly have the means to.

they are obviously trying to deter people from selling reviews, they are not expecting to make a direct profit from these lawsuits.

definitely worth a few millions if they can kill the fake reviews market.

They got squads of lawyers and boatloads of money, LOL, so don't think that's a concern for them.

If the fiverr sellers don't get their funds back, they should just socialengineer Amazon. It's literally one of the dumbest services out there to get free money from. Amazon would totally deserve it.

Tbh I kind of agree with Amazon doing this. Who wants to be deceived by fake 5 star reviews only to find out it's a mediocre product? It would tarnish the site's reputation as one that sells a bunch of low quality products/books etc. I sure don't ever plan on offering this service now that you can get sued

Yes, looks like they are trying to make an example of a few people. Surprised that they are going after individuals though.

Also saw the thread earlier today from someone on Bhw that was involved. Hope that guy is not one of the examples.

This reminds me of the first people who got sued for sharing songs in Napster.
