    Hi there,

what do you think about a domain name for a Amazon niche site like this:
    best-XXX-test.yy (XXX = product category)?

    Basically:
    xxx-test.yy is taken
    best-xxx.yy is free
    best-xxx-test.yy is free

What domain would you take? "xxx test" has a lot more keyword searches than "best xxx" keyword.

I would go with whichever one sounds better honestly. Exact match domains wont make too much of a difference in the long run, you would be better off just building a branded domain.
Ultimately I would purchase a domain thats been around for awhile and has a decent name to start your site. If you start it from nothing it will take you a couple months to rank, I am learning this the hard way. Google takes their time trusting new domains.

I would prefer a branded domain as well. There's is not much SEO benefit these days with an EMD, and it makes it easier to over optimize your SEO and get penalized as well. Those exact match domain names just sound trashy as well. You'll probably get more money in a sale with a good branded domain name.
