Amazon Marketing Question

    I have a client who just wrote a book and I was hired to market this book. I built a 20 page web site for him with book, info, reviews, sales page, etc... I am doing the usually marketing techniques with Scrapebx, Bookmarking demon, etc...

    But I had a thought, often i search on Google and the #1 site is Amazon for a particular item. I thought I might start doing link building for the Amazon sales page for his book. Amazon has great PR, Google scans it often, this could be easier to rank than the site I built.

    Here is my question... since the URL is really long for Amazon book sales pages
    (ie. amazon . co77m /Time-Runnning-Out-Reinhard-Bonnke/dp/3935057601/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1298904023&sr=8-1) <-- Not my book... just and example

    Since the URL is so long none of my scrapebox comments are being accepted, no social bookmarks are being accepted...

    Any ideas of how I can build hundreds of links? Any ideas besides web 2.0 sites?

    You could use a bt.ly url that goes to the amazon page. bt.ly uses a 301 redirect, so some of the link juice will be passed along to the amazon page.

    Why not just use those backlinks to get to #1 with his site, then throw up an amazon referral and earn money off people buying his book through amazon.

    Yes, Bit.ly is a good option. Or else you can buy some cheap .info domain and do a 301 redirect from there.

    Better go with the domain, .com is the best bet!
