Cryptolockers worry me - so im looking at online backup solutions.

Ive got about 200gb that needs backing up and the best value (i think anyway) one I found is Glacier by Amazon.

Before I take the plunge though I thought I'd see if BHW has any better solutions?

Starting at $0.007 per gigabyte per month.

I dont think anything else can beat that. I was going to suggest you to rent a VPS server, but thats going to cost you multiple folds, with no considerable advantages. So I guess, this is the way to go.a

tb303, So how did it go with Amazon Glacier and all data?

I was wondering if I can use it as a data storage for movie videos (due for copyright infringements)

Backblaze is cheaper. VPS (2x for redundancy) can also cheaper (for a lot of data) but you have to set it up, so not worth the hassle for just 200GB. Also, Amazon cloud drive is a very good solution to keep in mind.

Doesn't backblaze delete files if the disk they are on isn't connected for an extended time?

I never knew they came out with that service, it seems like a pretty good deal.

Its fine. No problems. Uploaded the data with fastglacier easily and its literally pence per month. So all good for my needs. :)

I suppose you can backup whatever you like to it though. If your worried RAR it with a password or something.

Thats why you put data on it that is worth more than $.05 per GB.
