Amazon & Ebay Cookie Question

Dont want to sound like a noobie, but I am.

I have Ebay and Amazon affil accounts and have links to products, if someone buys another product other than the one I listed do I get commish.

Yes, you get the commission for any product sale on ebay and Amazon.

Can you clear one more thing up..

Lets just say I click on a ebay link on a friends website, I dont decide to buy a product at that moment but type ebay into the url a hour or so later does that link I previously used give my friend commision, and if so how long for, what the life span of the cookie...

When you choose a type of widget from amazon, it generates a code. Just take the url listed in the code (you can copy and paste in your browser to test it).

It's 7 days for sales commission, and 30 days for lead commission (ACRU).
 
One more question on this topic..

1) If I go onto friend A's website and I click the ebay logo will he still get comish although I dont buy off ebay until later on in the week

2) Does the cookie get embeded automatically, just be the click.

3) What if I go on to Friend B's website does friend B get the comish over friend A.

4) Are the Ebay / Amazon cookies tracked back, what I mean is they ask your url at sign up, so can I place to link on other sites other than the one specified at ebay /a amazon.

5) I get approx 10k unques a day do you think I get enough traffic for this approach to be viable.

1) cookie lasts one week, as the others said.
2) yes. once you click, the cookie loads onto your computer
3) ebay cookies overwrite. so B gets the commission
4) they don't ask you do add sites. But obv they get the referrer the peps are coming from
5) 10k stuffed cookies a day depends on your niche or more on the demographic & country,
I guess if its random traffic 1 sale over 10k stuffed cookies sounds alright with amazon.
Don't know about ebay numbers though

The reason I asked is because I have read a few threads and talked to some friends in regards to stuffing cookies in forums and other places, will this not show up in E-bay stats, and then they pull the plug..
 
If you simply plug in a htaccess redirect with a broken , then yes it will show up in ebays stats and they will pull the plug.

Take some precausions, they are quite a few threads already on that topic, for instance you could put in the affiliate code into your signature.
