I got one the greatest shocks of my life yesterday. Amazon closed my account and withhold commissions for the following reasons,

“Your current Associates account is closed because an account belonging to you (or a person or entity connected or affiliated with you) has previously been closed for violations of the Operating Agreement or one of the other Amazon marketing programs.”

I created my affiliate account in 2019, and was accepted immediately. Due to trying to monitize UK traffic, I created Amazon UK affiliate account. Then in September 2020, the Amazon.co .uk affiliate account was closed for using the Amazon logo on one of my posts. This error was caused by the ContentEgg plugin which showed the Amazon logo. I corrected the mistake by properly configuring ContentEgg. I use ContentEgg to get real-time product price just like would see on sites like TechRadar and co.

While the UK account was closed, the global Amazon affiliate account was still working. So I felt I was safe only to receive this sad message.

I have appealed via the provided link and I still haven’t received any reply till now.

I have another Amazon account and I don’t know if it’s safe to add this site to that account.

Any updates ?
I added the site linked to the closed account to my working account, only for the working account to be closed.

What I noticed was that, Amazon associates reviews members account from time to time, and depending on the mood of the specialist that reviews your account, you might get banned for the slightest mistake.

They have two layers, a first-level support and the 2nd-level support. The 2nd-level are the specialists.

The 1st-level can say its okay, and the 2nd-level says it's not. The 2nd-level decision supercedes the 1st-level, and its final.

My two associates account where closed simply because of being related to a closed account. I added the site to a working account and that too was closed. So now I have no amazon associates account.

The worse of it all is that once your account is closed, you will loose your money and any other account you open that's linked to that site will be closed too.

You might use a different email and address, but once the site linked to closed account is detected, it will be closed. It might take time but they will definitely find out, close it and withhold your earnings.

One thing I also observed is that if you have ever been banned even though you use a new site, you will attract the attention of the specialist who will dig deep, and if in that process they are able to find any connection, you get yourself into trouble.

What Next For Me Going Forward?

Amazon associates represents 50% of my income, and I'm in the electronics niche. I tried using walmart, but the commission for electronics is just 1% (its not worth it).

I tried using Skimlinks or Viglinks, if you account has been banned, amazon will still find out and you will be booted out of any of these platforms.

So, I'm left with the option of pleading with Amazon associates to accept me back into the program. They said, its 99% unlikely to be accepted back. However, I'm banking on the 1% luck.

I also observed that while amazon will accept both small and big affiliates, if you get into trouble, the big affiliate has a greater chance of being accepted than the small affiliate. Unfortunately, I'm a very small affiliate averaging just $400.

If I'm not accepted back into the program, I'll simply put up my sites for sale, collect what I can and move far away from any business model that puts me under the control of another.

1. Change the domain, make a 301 redirect from the old one.
2. Change the design and basic data, about the site, the name of the categories, etc. Everything that can connect you with the old site. If possible, content.
3. Use an antidetect browser, a resident proxy, a new mailbox (without a similar login), new payment data to register.
4. Always use an antidetect, because once logged in through the main browser, you will reveal yourself as an old user.

I use gologin, for a year it turned out to be quite profitable compared to the others. But that doesn't mean you should opt for it too. Only by trial and error you can choose the one that suits you. I would be looking for a completely free plan with 1 profile, because that's exactly what you need right now.

Its really very wrong of such big companies to suspend account . Appeal to them and give them negative reviews where ever u can. They care for reviews and will get back to you.
