    Hello:

I tried setting up an affiliate account with Amazon yesterday, and ONLY after filling out all the forms was I notified that they block certain states, including mine. WTF?!?!?! Is this some kind of tax issue between selected states and Amazon or something?

I'm also curious how many other affiliate providers do this too (if any)

Just find a relative or friend in a friendly state and use that to register. You can setup payment as direct deposit and that requires no address, just bank info. Hope that helps you! Goodluck!

Amazon ran into tax issues with a bunch of states that want to tax their income just because they have affiliates in those states, so they're blocking affiliates now from these places. California was in that situation and Amazon had actually terminated all affiliate accounts from CA until the state legislature gave Amazon a tax exemption. I lost a couple of months of Amazon income that way.
