Has anyone done both? If so what was/is your outcome? What are the pros and cons to both. I have read a ton of info on here but most seem to be about blog/review sites.

This would be my first passive site on the site of my business so I'm new and just want to invest my time in the proper direction.

    Cheers

Start with blog. Once you get traffic and the site grows, you can always start a shop section :)

That's a good idea as well, with putting the site together it would take a whole 40 mins to add a store and all the item info. Think I would have an easier time just ranking a blog? My over all goal was to complete a site and then make another, 10 in total. Should I just put the tires on the top 4 trafficked sites?

very important point dont make 10 sites on one server , make it on different hosting provider under different name, i.e. dont leave footprint that way you can rank better
