    Just curious.

I run an Amazon affiliate/review site and one of the options for WP Zon Builder is to make all the links nofollow.

    It is unchecked.

I want this to be checked, correct?

    Thank you!

Yes, always add no follow to OBL that you do not want to pass link juice to. I always cloak my amazon links also. I use the free simple URL plugin. Then add a "no robots" text file and add the "go" dir to the no robots file or whatever dir your cloaked dir is in.

Hey Rob, just curious, but doesn't cloaking the Amazon links result in getting booted for violating their TOS? Here is the verbage:

For example, you must include your Associates ID or "tag" (appearing as XXXXX-20, or such other format as we may designate) as a parameter in the URL of each link you place on your site to the Amazon Site. In addition, you must not use a link shortening service in a manner that makes it unclear that you are linking to an Amazon Site.

I know not everyone is going to follow the TOS, but I guess my thought is that having to wait 3 months to get paid, and possibly getting caught and booted right before payday would be lame. You would have to have crazy good traffic generation methods i you felt you needed to no follow and cloak all Amazon links. I'm guessing that way they can't track how your commissions are being generated. Anyway, I'm an Amazon noob, help me understand!

Adding nofollow to your amazon affiliate link does not violate their TOS. nofollow is not a link shortening service and you are not doing anything to make it unclear that your linking to amazon. Your basically telling google that this is a link that you are not vouching for. (Google expects all links that you get paid for to be nofollowed since it is a conditional link)
