I've heard a lot of people say they make a good amount of money from people clicking the amazon link then buying something completely unrelated to the product they are reviewing.

Very roughly how many unrelated purchases do you get per click? For 1000 clicks do 1 of these people buy something unrelated? What sort of percentage of your amazon income is from unrelated purchases?

    Thanks! :)

Around 50% and sometimes even more. Most of my 'big income days' happened because of unrelated purchase.

Wow! I didn't expect it to be that high. I remember I was sending 2000 visits a day from Twitter once and hardly got any purchases. Maybe just social traffic sucks for Amazon.

Any kind of paid/forced traffic do not work well with Amazon. Only organic Google traffic works best for Amz niches.

Although I'm currently having a terrible month with Amazon Affs, in December when I was selling something around every 10 clicks, 75% would be completely unrelated stuff to my niche.

For me it's the 50-60% range. So much unrelated stuff gets bought during the holiday shopping season.

During the holidays it was around 50-70% of the time I'd say. You always have people who will see your affiliate site and think "Oh I'll get that for Uncle John" and then they think "Oh, I should get Susan a new _____" all while staying on your link. Like others have said the big payouts are usually unrelated products.

    Good luck!
