So i am starting the proccess of adding amazon affiliate links to my website. all the youtube tutorial videos are telling me to copy and paste the html link from amazon and post it into the text viewer of a blog post, now supposedly after i switch it to visual mode its supposed to show the amazon product image and link. When i hit publish it never shows up. Is the link broken? had amazon since updated or does wordpress no longer affiliate links by inserting them on the editing page? can anyone help me out here?

You should be inserting the html there, and not the link actually. You can have the HTML from where you get the link. Copy the HTML, and put it in the post and switch to visual to see the image and stuff.

Sometimes this could be happen due to hosting server errors...!
ok thats probably it! you see im using hostgator is that going to be a problem? if it is i will cancel with them right now before the next month payout rolls over and switch to a new hosting site if possible.

I had the same problem and its obviously not the hosting LOL. I solved it by just adding an image through URL (took the amazon image URL) and linking it to the affiliate URL. It works for me, but till now I still not know why the heck the code from amazon which is suggested does not work

thank you for the reassurance, it turns out it was not the hosting but in fact it was my adblocker that was preventing for affiliate html image and text to show up.

i prefer not to copy html code directly from amazon. this works but your ad won't be shown to visitors if they use "ad blocker" you are missing something there. Create your amazon product/your affiliate link manually. grab their images and upload it to your own site.

thanks for the advice i never actually thought of that, a lot of viewers will in fact have ad blocker installed preventing them from seeing my amazon affiliate links. i was thinking using text links as well and puting links into images.
