In this guide you can include various products like detergent you must use, acids and stuffs, you may also include this is the best curtains to buy.

Why write a guide?

Because a person reading your guide is highly Targeted and is in need in that particular guide. It is very high chance of buying than your regular article on best curtains to buy.

this is not correct
you are targetting people with an informational intent to expect to buy from you
while you are discouraging him from writing on the buyer intent keywords.

a person who is looking for "best" or "reviews" is more likely to buy something compared to some who is looking for an "how to".

yes you should write on both, and have both kinds of contents to attract more visitors but informational content won't sell, commercial will.

should've worked much better if you had stuck with white hat link building from the start, instead of improvising.
As you have discovered, it takes about the same time, only the white hat links stick through updates and keep rising.

Just my personal opinion though...

Links that are "Earned" and not "Built"
Links that go through an editorial process before they are posted.

They are both powerful and Google loves them. You can keep building thousands upon thousands of web 2.0, or whatever links or you can build 10 whitehat links on decent DR domains and you'll see the difference...
