    Hi

I've been a member here for just over a year, and I've learned very much from the forums here. I have been making some decent money with eBay in the past, and also I run a small local ecommerce business. But now I want to take the plunge for real into internet marketing. The idea of having a #1 ranked site for some keyword has always been a wet dream for me.

Everything that I will do is something I've learned from here, by reading, and reading. Maybe I've actually read to much, but that is another story.

The challenge I've giving myself is 100 sales within 100 days with an Amazon micro niche site. To be honest I don't know if it is too easy or way over the bar. But it gives me something to aim at, and run towards. I have no prior experience in SEO or ranking websites, so it will grant me some knowledge never the less!

    So without further ado..

    Day 1:

Today is the first day of my journey into making an Amazon micro niche site. But to be honest with you, I've actually cheated a bit. Because Friday last week I ordered a keyword from a sales thread here. I was thinking of trying to find a keyword myself, but after I've had a look at the sales thread, I thought that it was only 8 dollars, and I could very well gain my self a few days extra for not having to work my ass off trying to find what probably would only be a half as good keyword. So I ordered the keyword and waited patiently until the keyword arrived today, and boy did it look promising.

The keyword has 1000 search exact matches, second to none competition, products varying from $40 - $300+, and also I was able to get the .com of the EMD.

So what have I done today?

    I have..

    • bought the domain I will be using.
    • setup WordPress on the domain, and installed the theme I will be using (I already had a hosting account).
    • configured the website, almost to my needs, still missing some though.
    • installed some plugins and also created a few dummy posts, as well as a contact page, a disclaimer page, and a privacy policy page.
    • found 10 products within my niche I will be creating reviews for

To be honest I feel like I have already made great progress today. I will continue tomorrow where I will start working on my pillar article for my frontpage.

    Money spent: $20 (Keyword: $8 - Domain: $12)
    Money earned: $0
    Balance: - $20

Thank you very much. I also look very much forward to it. $20 is nothing, the real cost in this, is all the time I have to put into it, but so be it :)

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

    Day 2:

Today is the second day of my journey towards 100 Amazon affiliate sales.

Today was more of a planning day than it was a productive day. Today I had a closer look at the competition I am facing, and from what I've learned here, it should be relatively easy for a newbie like me to rank for this keyword. Looking at top 10 I have 6 ecommerce sites, and 3 semi-authority sites, and 1 Pinterest Board.

Here are some metrics from Market Samurai:

I read this first post twice again today because I think it has some very good points on how to build an Amazon affiliate site. Never the less, it is Nick's "recipe" I will be following for my first site. I have therefor altered a bit in my theme, so it now fits my needs and are ready to get some content.

    Content..

I started writing what is supposed to be my pillar article and also started on 1 review. Unfortunately I do not know very much about the niche I've received, so I am having a very hard time on this. I want the content to be high quality, easily readable and a bit long (words-wise). Ideally I want my pillar article to be 1500-2000 words, and each review to be 600-700 words long. But after working on the pillar article for a while, I am stuck at 258 words and 121 for the review. I don't know whether it is because I don't have a lot of knowledge about my niche or if I am having some kind of writers block. Despite the fact that my content is not very long, I have uploaded it to my site. So if a visitor should come by some how, they at least have the opportunity to click my affiliate link for 1 product ;)

I hope it will be better tomorrow, or else I may have to think in other ways.. But lets wait and see.
