Amazing way to sample fonts

So, you are making a design and you are wondering how would it look with a crazy font. How do you easily test it?

I just stumbled into this unbelievable cool implementation for font sampling and I got amazed by the elegance of the idea.

Don't do design myself, but I can see how this can be useful, will pass this on to my UI/UX friends.

One thing to remember though if your choosing for text elements is to only select fonts that will be available to most users, and also to choose alternate fonts for the few that might not have even those. The average visitor isn't going to want to download new custom font, so when using them most viewers will only see default fonts instead.

Still a really useful tool though. Just need to only test with "web-friendly fonts" unless you're going to use them to create graphic images.

Not if you use Cufon!

Choose your favorite font, go to this site, get the generated JS and enjoy unobtrusive font love for every visitor (who has not turned js off)

Cufon is awesome.

I love dafont.com. It allows you to preview what text you want, and show it in the search/category results.
