Amazing Blog Commenter is Spamming my Blog!

I run a personal blog about a creative passion of mine and have done so for many years. It's been PR6 but is now down to PR4 but has hundreds of quality followers a day and each post gets a good handful of comments.

I set comments to be approved automatically, but get an email each time a comment is left. I delete the spam usually within minutes so I'm not to worried about that. Today when I was deleting some really obvious spam (with 20 links about Replica Watches), I read some of the other comments above it. There was one really detailed comment making a really pertinent point that I was just about to reply to, but then realized it was spam, the key words were hidden really well and his comment must have taken 5 mns research from Wikipedia. I checked my posts back a few month and found at least another 30 comment from this guy, some I remember reading... ;-/

As all my outward links are nofollow this guy was getting ALL my link juice.

Just goes to prove what you can do with some quality work. If this guy is on BHW I want to hire him... :sly:

If the post is relevant and on topic you should approve it. Give the guy a link for taking the time to comment relevant stuff. Thats what comments are actually all about.

you have a good point, but it's plainly very clever spam and leader to stuff that i don't want my readers to link to. again this is a personal site, not something i monetize
