Hey guys,

Some of you have seen that I recently released a paid guide underlying my amazon business, how I got the brand to 6 figures in sales, and so on.

Due to the overwhelming amount of questions iv got on Amazon FBA and how it works, iv decided to help you guys out so feel free to shoot questions on here.

To be honest i was kind of shocked that not many on BHW actually sell on amazon / are familiar with the FBA program... everyone does amazon associates (affiliates) but not many actually sell on amazon on here.

To start things off : FBA = Fulfillment By Amazon = Amazon receives your product in bulk, packs, and ships to individual customers.

That program is life-changing thats why I really started selling on there, because unlike other platforms (lets say ebay) you dont have to pack and ship to each customers.. you simply send 1000 units for instance to amazon, and they pack them and ship to each customer individually. all you gotta do is send them inventory in bulk which can be done directly from the factory (you dont even have to see the product physically).

So I thought id be beneficial if I help you guys out... I really believe the opportunity is huge - especially when amazon keeps expanding to new countries...

Been selling for a few years now, making anywhere from $5,000-7,000 a month (had months where i made more, some when i made a little less)

Shoot - feel free to ask me anything about selling on amazon FBA ...

Hello, congrats with your business
You do some promotion with some ads? Like Facebook Ads, Bing ads, Google Adwords, etc.. or SEO blogs?
You buy from China with some known supplier like Alibaba and send directly to Amazon from this supplier?

Greetings

Does amazon visit your office before accepting you as seller?
Do I need to give 1000 unit of my product if my product is expensive?

Is this only applicable if you're in the US? If not, how do you settle your taxes?

Not at all, you can list in any amazon marketplace, these are :

Amazon’s Global Marketplaces:
  • United States
  • Canada
  • Mexico
  • United Kingdom
  • Germany
  • France
  • Italy
  • Spain
  • Japan
  • Singapore
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Brazil
  • Australia
  • India
  • Netherlands
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Turkey
  • Sweden (new in 2020)
  • Poland (new in 2021)

As far as taxes - same way you deal with any online income tax... nothing different, but clearly consult with a CPA.

Nope, no ads. I do recommend starting Amazon PPC which is their own paid traffic on amazon and helps a lot with passing you competitors when needed. but i dont usually use it either, its mostly organic sales.

And not necessarily from china, I do work with some factories in china and a couple in the US, but the point is to private label the product - make your brand - resell it for more $$$.

No man they dont visit anything.
You dont have to give 1000 units of anything.. there are no limits, you decide and you can start with 1 unit, which will be stupid but if you're on a budget...start with 10-20 units to get a proof of concept

hope that helps guys!

How do you deal with people (mostly Chinese) hijacking your listing and getting the buy box?

Do you recommend getting an insurance?

Ofc its possible, im in the US and scaling now to the UK.
You dont have to live in the country you want to sell in.

Insurance for what?
and chinese can't hijack your listing if you register your brand which I highly recommend doing.

Do you do any off site seo to your products page? Does amazon have any kind of sponsored listings programs or is it just their algo? Also, do you rely on fb ads/ g ads? Sorry if already asked. Did not check the posts yet.

Liability insurance in case someone sues you. In Germany you’re fully responsible for the product you import into the EU, so it is necessary.

Did you go through brand registry process on Amazon or did you register it outside of it? I heard that Amazon might be a bit more expensive but makes the process easier.

Did FBA a few years ago, back in the golden days before it got really competitive. It's still good but importing low qual Whitelabel goods from CN is much more competitive now.

Just to add, insurance is a MUST especially if you are based in the US/EU.

Major Props to you my dude. I've been interested in FBA for quite a while, but could never find the right time to pull the trigger. As I wait for Amazon to finish verifying my address and financial info I am being haunted by one thing. I've found the perfect product to sell on Amazon. This product has only one seller, makes over 80K monthly and has a couple of thousands reviews. Of those reviews several dozen complain about a simple, but major flaw in the design. I've found 16 manufacturers that make the SAME EXACT PRODUCT. My question is, once I go with a manufacturer that can fix the design flaw, what is stopping the other seller from stealing my improvement?

What's the price of the product you sell?
If you take into account the price you pay your chinese supplier, plus shipping, plus amazon fees, you have to sell high ticket products to be profitable with fba.
There are tons of courses online about fba, they quite all say you have to improve an existing product to make profit, because selling same stuff as the others will not make you rich due to the huge competition on white label products. What's your strategy to make your listing stand out?
Thanks

Anyway, I think the minimum investment for Amazon FBA should be 4000-5000$. There a lot of expenses which could be covered and also you should have some money on the side as a backup. Things easily could be messed up.

That's just simply not true. You can sell books, shoes, buy stuff at Walmart or other stores. I sold on FBA and didn't even have $500 when I started, more like $100. If you wanna make money you can't be lazy. Put forth the effort and you can do well if you learn how to sell the right products.

In general, I thought of FBA - Private Label model. You need a lot of money for launching products and PPC or luck star to hit you in your head. :)

Your model is a different story, and definitely an option to start with less investment.

True but you only need $500-$1000 to test different products which Zion does teach in his book.
