As i'm slowly planning to stop my dropshipping adventure, i'm doing a AMA so you can learn a bit from my experience,

I'm French (From France)

What market did you target ?
Only the French Market (i did try DE & US market but it didn't work too well)

What was your niche ?
Jewelry niche

What was your profit margin ?
Around 31% (192 000€)

What was your Ads platform ?
Only Facebook ADS

How much did you spend on Facebook ADS ?
250 000€

What platform did you use ?
Shopify

I used to have a reconvert upsell & sticky add to cart, but to be fair i didn't bring much, the only thing i really do recommend is Email Marketing (Klaviyo or anything you want) and eventually SMS marketing if you are dedicated to it

Edit : Because all those plugins are doind pretty cool stuff but are also slowly your website like crazy, so overall i really do think it's not worth it

So I went through a phase researching all the dropshipping stuff but decided against it because of the difficulty with content creation.
How were you able to make quality ads? Photoshop?

As i was in a small niche, i really just did use the aliexpress / alibaba pictures, it's only okay to do so if you are not selling saturated product

Twillio, and only yo customers, you can't really use SMS marketing for cold

Firsly Aliexpress, then i did find an agent in China who is doing the quality check + storage + shipping

Do you think dropshipping as a whole is getting saturated?
Have you considered using influencers to promote your store/products, do you think this is a valid strategy especially for someone who can't pay for ads?

Well, drophipping is basically just e-commerce, and i really don't think e-commerce is saturated ^^', the main problem here is to be profitable as a lots of people are doing advertising on facebook / tiktok / influencers, which just mean more expenses and less people being able to wait to be profitable

Considering influencers it's always tricky to do it, because there is always people who will complain to the influencer saying "Yo buddy you are doing promotions of shitty product from china" so must "small influencers" won't want to do it, and big one (who don't care) are to expensive (and to risky) to start with

Best way to find a niche for this stuff? I successfully ranked and run a 7 figure store for my job, but I’ve been wanting to do my own for a while but can’t seem to find an industry I want to go all in on.

1 & 2 - Only the sourcing / shipping (with my reliable agent)
3 - I want to stop because i do have some cash now and want to do something i'm proud of and build long term
4 - I did start working on side project trying to build long lasting revenue and brand, so i did less ads, less optimized, less email and so on

Well i actually did find mine in a facebook ads (xD) i was pretty lucky because it was small enough so there was not a single competition on my country, but big enough to build something,
What i will recommend is to start by working on a niche of a niche (Like Jewelry for cats addict, Apparel for viking etc...)

I need help please Contact in private message if you can.
I worked before with ecomerce in Europe country in Albania.
But i want to try to do dropshipping because economic situation is very difficult here.
I tried with cosmetics with private label in Usa, but i didnt make any sales since 15 days, maybe because shipping need 20 days and new brand need to much time to create realiability.
Can you help me to start with this or anything else because im a father with 2 children and my finances are very bad actually.

Its strange you want to quit it. I dont think it takes you much time to run this store. Would be a great side income imo
