I don't what it is, but a few months ago I could hunt and secure a good domain for $75 bucks and now it is suddenly going upwards of $400.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

Yep, prices are definitely rising since PBNs are the last really effective "long term" blackhat method left. Makes creating you own system to find really good stuff at registration price even more worthwhile.

I spend a lot of time on auctions, it's true, the prices in the past year were steadily increasing, I can surely say than in the past 6~ months prices more than tripled for premium SEO domains, I used to get them for 100$~, now the same type of domains goes for 300$~ (based on multiple hundred of domains tracked). It's crazy.

Prices on auctions have been rising steadily and lately they are brutal. Unless Google changes something brutally, the trend will continue, as long as people will be willing to pay so much for domains.
