One of my weaknesses is taking on too much. Definitely feeling burned-out...

What do you guys do to prevent this? Do you force yourself to be away from the keyboard for a fixed set of hours per day?

Interested to hear your methods...

Meditation.

Look up for bineural beats. Relax and take a 20min session.

taking on too much
I literally made a PowerPoint this morning outlining the possible directions to focus my energy on. I suffer from extreme ADHD, and I bounce from idea to idea 20 times a day.

It was therapeutic putting all of my possibilities down in writing, then going over them with my wife. I listed the pros and cons of each "direction" and we just talked it out...

I 100000% feel better. And I hope you find your peace and direction as well!

If the work can be outsourced so I do,otherwise take a break for some time to cool down and then begin again.

I don't think there's any cure to burnout. I personally think it's healthy to take a step back every now and then and relax.

You could try power through (& working during) the burnout, but I believe the burnout sensation will just get bigger, and the break you'll want to take will be impeding and bigger than before.

Meditation helps a lot, you should try

Take it easy. Don't push yourself so much that start hating what you do.

Depending on what you do, set your work time. Use the rest of the time to sleep, do daily chores, have fun and socialize.

Don't give more importance to money than yourself. What would you do with the money if you don't live?

My 3 cents. Hope it helps. ;)

I feel you on so many levels, dude. I honestly sometimes feel like I'm taking on way too much and have even felt sick after some days where I've been non-stop. I think it's important (and it's self love) to set limits for ourselves and others as well. Take a break in between work, to rest or to do an activity that helps you relax. Drink some hot tea, eat a cookie, go out for a walk, or just take a good nap.

Our productivity increases when we feel good and focused. There's no point in overworking ourselves trying to get everything done in a single day. It's okay to take your time!

- meditation
- write 15 min a day in a diary what bugs you and what you want to do and how your day has been and how you feel about shit. Writing helps more than you would think...write..do not use typing behind a screen
- set a timer and stick to it no matter what. So if you start at 9 and finish at 9 put 2/3 breaks in and do the meditation and writing and watch/play something
