Yesterday I posted an ad on craigslist. I got many interested people to e-mail me back. I replied with an affiliate link (yeah, I was promoting an offer). One guy said that he feels like this is a scam and will report me to BBB.
What the hell is BBB? Bad boys bar?
Am I in trouble? I don't even live in the USA.

    BBB is almost a joke,

only good if someone searches their site, and if you get complaints you can not display their seal [trust]

The only problem would be if it got back to the company being promoted or the affiliate network you are on. Then perhaps the ban hammer will come. I get several threats a week... almost all of them end up being hot air.

Yeah. I don't know what's wrong with these guys from CL, I think they don't even know what "SCAM" means and just use it all the time because they heard it's cool. I didn't even SPAM, because THEY e-mail me first. What's wrong with replying with a link? Nothing I believe.
