Am I doing this Right? (Building Backlinks)

Sorry for the really basic question, but you know how it is.

For building backlinks,

1.) I find a high PR page (http://www.propeller.com/member/newperson/)

2.) I post a message with my URL in it (Cool ideas! keep it coming
http://lostseasonsixinfo.blogspot.com)

Is that it?

If you try to build links by yourself doing 1 at a time it will take you a lifetime to achieve any decent rankings worthwhile. Start putting together a strategy and outsourcing link building otherwise you'll spend the next 10 days building a couple of links per day.

No. Links are pretty close to useless without anchor texts describing your site/content. So for example:

Here is the method I use. It takes a little practice to get good and build up a list - but when you do, you'll be able to manipulate rankings much more easily. For one of my sites, I recently moved from position 15 to position 3 in a period of 5 days by bashing out 100 high PR backlinks that I had stored in a list. Took 2-3 hours work.

For Back Links you can also try posting on other sites like digg.com, fave.com, jumptags.com and bookmarks.yahoo.com which are similar to propeller.
