Alright so i'm running this dating offer .. i have a custom landing page that an AM from the network set up for me .. he set up the index and the template and what-not i basically just had to give him my affiliate link to the custom iframe and he helped me set it up on host-gator. The only thing i've noticed recently is that on my affiliate account its telling me i'm only getting 60 unique visitors when my host gator account says i'm getting 130 unique visitors. so what the fuck is going on here .. and i know for a fact i'm not getting credited for all my sales since i deal with the traffic manually. I'm thinking the AM who set up my lander either made it in a way that half of my traffic goes to him ? idk how to check for that .. or the network is just fucking me over. Either way they both work together and im pissed. Any ideas? other than switch networks .. (they have a private offer that works well for me)

How did you check in hostgator..through awstats...
use Piwik or GA and use goals to check the outgoing clicks to your links

lots of network filter out clicks from bots, users with javascript off, etc...
and lots of tracking systems show bots as visitors... so there might not be a problem there... as for the conversions... most networks/advertisers shave...

lol , thats quite simple , 130 uniques land on your site and only 60 click and go to the offer.

Yeah he could have possibly put in a rotator script that would send a certain amount of traffic to his stuff or something, in this case looks like about 50%. Take a look at the html/php files and look for any web addresses that look unusual. I'm not saying he did that, but I am saying that if you don't know anything about html, he easily could have.

Why don't you confront them, I mean if you have evidence in that you are manually going through with them to convert them. Then it makes the network look a little silly, first talk to your affiliate manager. And if he doesn't admit anything is wrong go above him. Yes it could be that you just have a greedy affiliate manager, but first of all make sure you know you are being stolen from... are you absolutely sure you are not being credited for every sale you've generated? How are you so sure? Okay tell them that.

If they don't have to click or take an action for a unique to register it seems like it's just filtering out bots and stuff like someone else said. I've always had weird HG traffic stats anyway... are you using a link shortener or time expire links or anything?

Please make sure that your stats from hostgator doesn't include the traffic from search engine bots. It's better to use GA or piwik for analytics to know the visitors count.

There's a good chance that your offer is being blocked by ad blocking programs (adblock plus for example). If that's the case, your lander would load but the offer in the iframe is being blocked. Look into popular ad blocking programs for browsers and test them out on your lander to see if the offer is being blocked. Also, it would be a good idea to put your own tracking on the lander.

internet explorer i believe blocks cookies from iframes by default. so if they are crediting by cookies, that could be the issue.

What networks you are working with guys, shit the stats are way too obvious.... this is not shaving, is.. eradicating. WTF

As for the OP, awstats or whatever tracking system from hostgator always showed me some extra traffic because of bots or something, so shaving half of your leads might not be the case.

If your AM set up your landing page for you then he basically did half the work for you. Did he say anything about a rev share?

    That is insanity right there!

Networks always shave, you're right it's just part of the game. What you need to do is send a huge amount of traffic, though GST's situation sounds like he was capped. It probably mostly depends on the quality of the leads people are sending, and you can't always blame the network, it's the advertiser too.
