Is this an seo trick that is being pulled on me?

I checked my domain in google. My site came up, as per usual, I was able to click in, no problem.

    But...

on the 5th page of google, my pages came up under someone else's domain name.

I called godaddy and they said that someone forwarded their domain to mine.

Am I being set up for something here?

    Please help,

    Thanks

I've got about 1200 already. Is that enough? What exactly is he trying to do?

How can he? He doesn't have access to my file server. He has to get into my file server to access my paypal account..doesn't he?

I have a membership site that's based on video tutorials.

Hmmm, i was thinking like drawing attention to his site so he milks it using your name, i'm just guessing could be something else.

Sounds to me like he is selling his site and is faking his PR by forwarding his domain to your site. What is your PR in Goggle?

    My website is only pr4.

The bottom line is..I'm not concerned if he rides my wave. I'm just concerned that he doesn't interfere with my business.

Assuming he cannot get into my account and into my file server (which I think has good security), does anyone think that these actions should worry me?

lol, thats a good thing. If someone forwarded their domain name to yours it means you get free traffic, and he gets nothing. Be thankful and stop worrying.

If I were to do this to someone, I would be rewriting all their affiliate links and paypal links on the fly in php. Are you sure it is a redirect? Are you sure it isn't a proxy site? I would be checking the links to make sure they still point at your accounts or not. If not, you have something to worry about.

    dichotom,

Thanks for your insight. I don't have any affiliate links. As far as paypal goes, it's linked to my 'pay now' page. What links should I be checking, my backlinks?

If none of your paypal codes are visible in any html source you shouldn't have anything to worry about. You could always confirm by going to the offending site and initiating a transaction to see if it goes to your payment page or a different one.

BTW: This has nothing to do with backlinks, the person doing this can only change things within the domain they own and are doing this with, not on your site or anywhere else.

Do you offer an affiliate program?
The person might be an affiliate of yours who is redirecting his own domain so that he can promote through adwords, or to fake referrals, etc...

Do you see this domain in your referrer logs?

But having more than one domain pointing to the same site is seen as a no-no by the G and probably others too, and possibly will ultimately reflect on your position with the SERPS..are you sure he hasn't completely ripped your site page for page so you think it is yours?

If it is your own affiliate it makes sense. They are simply sending traffic to you with their affiliate link. Otherwise they are just giving you a free backlink to your site which is good for you (unless it has adult content on it). If you found this link on the 5th search page then they have been at it for a while.

I don't have any affiliates. I don't think he ripped off my site page. How would I know?

If you go to his domain and hover over the navigation links on the site, are they showing your domain.com in the bottom of your browser window or hisdomain.com?
