I just created a site about 3 weeks ago. Registered it as brand new. I went to check it out on ahrefs and it says I have 600 backlinks. What the hell. I then checked with Majestic SEO and they said I had over 900 backlinks. These are what the sites look like:

For about a week I accidentally had the wordpress site set to anyone can join and new members are administrators. Stupid mistake I know. And about a day later there was some random article on the site. Maybe are these links coming from someone else who trying to blast their own tier 1 article backlink from my site with low quality backlinks? I am so dumbfounded. Am I completely screwed? I feel like google is going to slap my site any second now if they already haven't.

What in the world can I do?? Please help me BHW, I feel so violated...

Okay, I guess I am correct with my assumption. Ahrefs shows that every single backlink no longer has a url or anchor text. So ultimately, this person created an article on my site, linked to it about 1000 times, then I deleted the article. Will these backlinks that show up in ahref be hurting my rank even though the page they were linking to has been deleted?

are you 100% sure that the domain wasnt previously owned?

got to archive.org and type in the url of the home page to see if someone else owned it

Yes I am 100 percent sure the site was never owned before. And now I am 100 percent certain that someone built a tier 1 backlink (via the article) on my site when I had it checked to "anyone can join". He then built a bunch of spammy tier 2 or 3 links to the article on my site that is now removed. So it appears I have a bunch of spammy back links pointing to a page on my site that doesn't exist.

I will indeed use the google Disavow tool. I am just not sure how to get the list of 600 or so sites into a text file to upload to google. Can anyone help me out on this?

And I will ask one more time, are there any experts out there that would start all over if they were in this situation? Or would they disavow all the links then continue building their own high quality backlinks?
