Hello guys ! Hope you all doing great, I've been a reader here for a quiet long time learning about SEO and enjoying your journeys and I must say I'm so thankful so each one of sharing those precious information, before deciding to finally make an account and ask these few questions :(

I was about to start my blog, so I wanted to chose a niche that is related to ( Health ) but then I've heard of terms like EAT / YMYL (by the way I'm already a Medical Doctor but currently living in Tier 3 country so I'm not making a lot for my family )

so does that mean it's bad for blogging and affiliate ? or it's too competitive ? or it's only for few people like trustworthy people or something like ? ( don't mind me please I'm a noobie )

thank you so much, and I'm sorry.

The health niche is an evergreen niche as far as blogging is concerned. Some great sub-niches are weight loss, fitness, anti-aging, skincare, nutrition, parenting, supplements, vegan lifestyle, etc.

If you start with a new domain, and English language, EAT / YMYL might gonna reduce your success rate a lot.

You have the knowledge and all you have to do is an older domain with good authority you can read about it from this forum......by all means go for it if you know what youre capable of doing and think you can compete the knowledge from MayoClinic and so many other big boys then go. You dont even really need to directly compete with them you just have to narrow down the niche a bit

Since you are a Medical Practitioner you already have an edge over others. You can start a blog with your name and face. Also start a You Tube channel to compliment your blogging efforts. Because you are a Doctor yourself, you are an authority in the niche. So just start with your blog + You Tube channel and start creating content. Your audience will love you for the health tips and guides and will naturally follow you.

I will suggest you try youtube first to test the water.

Are you a qualified doctor?
Are you a specialist in the niche you are considering?
Do you need to have qualifications in the niche you are writing about to be considered an expert? If so, how does Google check up on this?

What you need to do is build out your author bio, link to the universities where you graduate etc, then become recognised for your expertise as a medical professional.

Medical advice is always better coming from a genuine medical Dr then some numpty who has just rehashed an article.
