Do you guys use alternate social media for IM? I'm talking platforms that aren't quite household names but still do numbers and have pretty big audiences.

Some would be like BlueSky (very popular rn), Likee, Lemon8, Clapper. I even saw Triller and Lomotif but they look very music-related than just general social media. Maybe Threads can go in the list, or even Newsbreak but that's not entirely social media. Any other names you know of?

Or maybe you use these apps just for general things and not IM. In that case would you say they are better than what's big today?

I like bluesky the most as it works quite similar to twitter. I don't think they're better than the big players right now.

Right but where there's an audience there's potential. Especially when everyone has eyes on the biggest platforms, I don't think it's bad to try lesser known places out.
