I am building a site and have added a FAQ page.

I placed the words "Frequently Asked Questions" in h1 tags and the rest of the content in paragraph tags.

When you look at the page, it displays only the "Frequently Asked Questions" line and no other content.
If I place the rest of the content in header tags, it displays. I cannot have a whole page of heading tags obviously.

What is going on? More importantly how do I fix it?

This shit is why I hate WordPress.

Can't say I love Wordpress (quite the contrary) but ..

Without seeing the site's code, I'd suggest you to take a look at your CSS file(s) and see if there are any CSS rules being applied for the p tags.

Actually - what you can do first is a quick view source on the page where your text should appear and see if the text exists in the HTML source. If it does, then it's almost certainly a stylesheet issue.

the problem might be because of the custom theme
and make sure text color is visible in css file

Well soulds like you are over complicating things. First your page / post title is already your H1 so you adding another is duplicate H1. Then next all you need to do is copy and paste your text in to Wordpress as is and no need for the Tags. Why are you adding tags? JUust simple copy and paste your text and publish.

Text is visible in the source code, no css that I can see for the P tags, unless there is a special condition for a FAQ page hidden somewhere. Any Idea how to find the stylesheet issue?

Well gee, do you think so? Any idea how to fix that?

WordPress over complicates things. This particlar theme uses h1 tags everywhere. I can go in and change them. My problem is that the text I placed on the page is not displaying UNLESS I add the tags. That is why I added the tags, becasue I want the content to be visible. I thought about just letting the page display empty, but I figured it would be difficult to read.

Simply copying and pasting didn't work, or I would not have bothered to make this thread.

Might be one of these two things:

    1) Have you closed the h1 tag properly ? (</h1>)

2)Try using H2 tag for Frequently Asked Questions.
Dont paragraph for the text below it.

Ok i would suggest if it's is not working then the theme is rubbish and you need to find a better one. So many themes to choose from and many good but equally many bad and not easy to fix a theme related problem since all different and could not say what is wrong with this particular one.

Use Chrome's "inspect element" feature. Locate the text within the source code and then take a look at the "Matched CSS rules" bit on the right. Once you find the rule that is causing issues it nicely points you to the correct row in the correct CSS file.

Alternatively, WP Live Ninja may be able to help. (I'm not affiliated with them and haven't used them but have followed Dan around for a while and he tends to know what he's doing!)

Can't. customer picked the theme, but thanks.

    1. yes I have closed the tag.
    2. This doesn't help because ll the faqs will be in heading tags. I need them in paragraph tags.

Why do you need FTP access?

Thank you, I will try this.
