Have you experienced this? It happened to 5 of my sites so I do not think it's a glitch. I am doing tier one with web2.0 and tier2 with amr articles sites. I noticed it again and again. Google rank the web2.0 and even the article sites higher than my main site. 1, 2 or even 5 of these sites (articles and web2.0) are on the first page and second page for each keyword I target but not my main site. This result is becoming a constant for now for me. How to overcome it?

Does it indicate that they have started catching those who used to build very common tier linking (e.g Web2 <- AMR/Bookmarks <- Scrapebox/Xrumer)? I have not seen the impact so far but again I never build tier backlinks exactly in the same form.

You shouldn't be using your main keyword in the crappy links to your tiered properties. Use a mix of relevant long tail keywords. If you do that your web 2.0 properties shouldn't be ranking to your main keywords.

I think you were using your main keyword. If not just wait a little time until the linkjuice passes to the website, those articles and web 2.0 will lose their rankings. Sometimes i was getting an article on the first page of google without a single backlink but it was temporarily.

    Yep.

I've been guilty of this as well and a couple of sites have Web 2.0s and YT videos ranking above the sites themselves. This is definitely what you should be doing.

In the mean time can you monetize the web 2.0's that you've created. I have generated sales directly from squidoo, hubpages, and many other websites. If they are getting traffic, might as well put them to work!

Build a shitload of no anchor text links like yourwebsite.com, you have probably been hit by Penguin. Those web2s can take the abuse but your site cannot take the unnaturally high exact match anchors. The exact anchor is a guess.. Am I right?

So true, just putting affiliate links on these can get you sales without doing anything else.

Hmm, interesting find. Were the web 2.0's interlinked? I've found similar results.
