Hi all black hat Masters !
i am new in SEO world. I am a PHP programmer from last 6 years. I am good in php but not in SEO.

I have developed a site for hit counters
"sitecounters dot info" please replace dot with "." and remove the space
it is registered from 2005 and now i start learning SEO and did on page SEO and its long long time i didn't see much traffic on the my website :(

even alexa rank is going down and i lost my page rank as well from 3 to 2

what am i doing wrong ???????

I developed my site in DIV 100% table less
Pages are in HTML ( i used apache mode rewrite)
All headings are in H1 and titles and page names are almost same
Contents also have keywords in them.
I think i used all tricks that i learned from here but all in vein

    HELP PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE

If any guru will help me i will give his website link for all my counters for 1 month or for more months too but depends........

But i think i have to giveup. Can you tell me how can i promote my site free of cost? I get less time so posting in forum or blogs is very time consuming :(

    Hi Sleepie,
Thanks for your reply. I did not say i don't have time. I said i have less time to post in forum and blogs. It means I CAN GIVE TIME TO MY SITE. But it is hard to find counter related forums and blogs. and i can not waste time to post in irrelevant blogs and forums. Many SEO experts here said its worthless to have low quality or quality less links.
Again sorry for my mistake about not being clear of time

Also, PR and Alexa aren't that important unless you're trying to resell your web property to someone else. Alexa isn't an accurate metric and PR doesn't have an empirically-proven correlation to higher SERP rankings.

Well, you're trying to enter what appears to be a highly competitive keyword space. You're fighting an uphill battle, so to speak. In terms of on-site optimization, one major issue I see is that your menu is being held together with tables. Try redoing that with CSS. Also, your distributing your links across two domains.

Have you submitted your sitemap [http://www.sitecounters.info/sitemap.xml] to Google's Webmaster Tools?

Oldenstylehats yes i submited sitemap to google. But thanks for reminding it was deleted today when i was updating my site's contents. I uploaded again and it is already submitted to google.
Is it bad that i have my top menus in tables? how will it effect my site?
and my site get good SERP on couple of counter related keywords for example

    fashion counters, flags counter

It is best to only use tables for tabular data and to rely upon CSS for arranging elements. You'd also be able to use list tags, which would be a more accurate way of describing your menu information. With regards to your current SERP placement, neither of those keyword spaces are very competitive. Are you tracking your traffic at all w/ Analytics, PiWik, GetClicky, or similar?

No i just use google webmaster tools, alexa and my own counters for analytics. Are these good? which you have mentioned.
And what do you think about senuke? another seo member advised me i got senuke ( from rapidshare) from just some tricks i am able to run and exploring this tool. But i am not sure if it is worth to spend much time on it.

I've never used SENuke. Google Analytics is probably the easiest of the applications I mentioned to setup. Alexa is very, very inaccurate. I can't say whether your own counters are good, because I don't use them. Analytics isn't real-time. GetClicky and PiWik are.

You said you did only on page optimization, crrect me if I'm wrong

Have you done any off page? Do social bookmark, directory submissions,
Articles, press releases, squidoo lenses, hubpages, videos, pings,
And others off page that you can think of.

If the competition is fierce, doing all that is worth the time
Plus you have the advantage of having old domain
What you want to aim is research on keywords (many discussions here)
And build backlinks according to the results

    hi krishananda,
Thanks for your message. As i new in SEO world. I could not understand one thing that if i will post in social bookmarking site or directory submission etc. will user see that and come to my website or search engine will see that and give me traffic if yes then how?

I did research on keywords and competitor keywords analysis. And i used those keywords in title, page name, h1 heading and in contents as well in bold.

Yes i did not do any off page optimization. But my website link is on some websites because if any user register he get my website back link ....

Yeah, you rock, I see what you mean, by building widgets and include your sites' urls in it is one of the technique for link building.

But how many sites are using your counter currently? I've searched and can only found 3 sites - perhaps search engines haven't indexed the others yet.

For your question, if you submit to the huge bookmark sites like stumbleupon, digg, reddit, etc - chances are if the members there find your story is interested they'd click on it and check - if you're lucky enough they'd vote on our story.
And from the smaller bookmark sites you'd get your links notified by search engines spiders and crawl back to your site.
Don't expect too many traffics from these sites.

I don't care what other people say, social bookmark is still one of the best way to get your sites' ranks higher in search engines.

I've work with many clients before and it's still proven to be true.

Once you get your site on first page of search engines, you can get boost on traffic.
That is if you done the keyword research right.
Always aim on highly searched keywords but with lower competition.
