Akismet Tips

A fast add:

All public proxies are banned. Yes, all.

You can only get your website unbanned if you contact akismet on their contact form (not easy tho) and ask them politely if they can unban and that you have no idea why your website is banned.

Websites with "-" in it are marked as spam (not for domains). For example:

http://www.website.com/randomcraphere <- not marked as spam
http://www.web-site.com/randomcraphere <- not marked as spam
http://www.website.com/random-crap-here <- marked as spam

I appreciate you sharing info about aki$met, but I've also noticed a tendency toward over-stating things in this thread.

You are wrong about there only being one way to get unbanned. Flat-out wrong.
 
Greg, I'm curious, if he's wrong, what's the right way to get unbanned?

Well I did not find any ways till now for getting unbanned and also searched on google and found that you can only get unbanned if you email them.

Well I opened this thread so other members can share their opinions and prove if I'm wrong or right. I might of provided a wrong info about the unbanning but I can guarantee that everything else posted is totally true as it's now been tested even further.

Gregstereo you are really making me nervous... :) what is it about? Are you sending your spam comments to your own blogs and in mass classifying them as "no spam"?
