Just wondering if anyone knows what's up with my situation. I have a wireless card from one company and I get a new IP every time I disconnect and reconnect. (IP range is not unlimited. If I go on 6 or 7 times I'll wind up with the same IP. There seems to be a certain allotment, per area, I'm guessing). However, it is convenient to get a new IP quickly. I signed up for one from another provider, and no matter how many times I disconnect and reconnect, I get the same IP, and it's in Vancouver, far far away from me - AND SUPER SLOW! There is coverage in my area, and I don't know why this thing is not connecting to somewhere that is local. I've tried resetting it by pushing the tiny button, etc. Anyone know why this is? A friend of mine has a card from a totally diff company and it also gives new IP's upon re-connecting. This one doesn't though. Anyone have any ideas?
