Seems AI sites are getting hit hard by the latest Google Core Update:


"Google is taking aim at sites with heavy AI-content. There are countless reports of sites getting COMPLETELY de-indexed from search:

1. On March 5th, Google announced the March 2024 Core Update that talked about taking action against sites with "Scaled Content": https://lnkd.in/eRPbb9hx

This is very expected.

The target is not AI per say, rather mass production of content which AI is used for.

I doubt any algorithm could tell apart GTP-4 article with human input from human only piece.

What they can tell apart easily is when site goes from 0 articles to 1000+ in a month.

- ExpDoms: New site not in the same niche => BAM. At least this is what they declared and want and can achieve. I am very surprised reading that now, so late, after decades. Has this never been declared previously? Technically the unrelatedness seems to be easily detectable.
- Scaled Content: They admit again that they cannot ("we do not") distinguish between AI-content and human content. Moreover, it makes sense, right? New domain, many content in short time => BAM. No way other than using secondary signs, like this mentioned content building velocity. Looks similar to using backlinks building velocity as a pattern to identify BH.

Back to your question: I strongly assume AI content for itself is not harmful. Bad (AI) content will not allow you to rank high, though. And using scaled content might be prohibitive now.

Google's cracking down on what they call "Scaled Content". I've seen mixed results with AI content.

yep! I feel like not many newbies know (or even consider) this when they publish 100 articles a day since day 1 of a new site lol

I have a website with about 80 posts published in about 2 months. The content is GPT4 but it wasn't spammy at all, probably better than 95% of writers. Everything is structured nicely, with good outlines. It is gone too. So, they definitely targeted AI heavily and not only these spammy websites with 1000s of posts.

My all AI Niche sites are still up, even some of them are getting spike in traffic surprisingly. when utilizing AI for content creation Taking an aggressive approach is risky.

My advice is to focus on quality over quantity. Rather than flooding your site with content, prioritize publishing fewer pieces that incorporate a human touch and offer substantial value.

At the moment, no. But today is the first day that I noticed the rankings took a huge hit. The keywords from TOP10 are completely gone.

Google's SEO team has many users here who are Jr VIPs, Executives vip, etc. I am sure of it. We have been infiltrated since the start.

It is not about AI content as per my research. Google says "Our focus on the quality of content, rather than how content is produced, is a useful guide that has helped us deliver reliable, high-quality results to users for years." Kindly correct me if I am wrong.
