that is true for any auto generated content. tools provide the content, but you still have to have a seo strategy. its like with any normal website.
if you just create posts without seo (or promotion) it won't get you much traffic.

This is key!

People often get carried away into believing these AI-based writing tools will somehow replace humans and we´re still decades from that (IMO).

They are called "writing assistants" for a reason.

Nowadays, even duplicate content that was posted on tens of thousands of websites can rank.

That's actually a realistic claim.. use AI content to supplement your existing strategy it could work if you also put some manual work into it.
It could be great for evergreen topics, supporting articles, but obviously, for ranking keywords, you should use proper content.
Most people here on BHW praise AI content as it's some kind of black magic that can make people rich without effort.
But that's not gonna last for too long considering each day more and more webmasters generate garbage content and Google gets smarter by catching them.
Fake it until you make it.. but do it smart.

Some of my ai content sites are ranking by themself and some due to seo. For me it looks like niche selection is a vital factor.

While I appreciate Nathan's YouTube videos, he tends to overstate many things.

He's very different from the other SEO dude I follow - BRIAN DEAN

And given how AI is making waves, I wouldn't be surprised if there will be a countermeasure by Google soon.

You have to understand that Google also uses AI.

So it's going to be a constant arms race until the GPT-based technology finally breaks out of Google's gravitational pull when it comes to tech development.

It's an arms race so expect people to use technology to gain an advantage for a certain period until the empire strikes back.

It's never going to end until there's a massive dramatic seachange in technology.
