AI Auto-Blogging still a think in SEO?

Some auto-blogging tools might help you to specify the keywords and as some said it will help to increase the content frequency but it won't guarantee the quality.

Still I make money using auto blogging.

This autoblogging thing looks interesting. But how does it work in practice? I mean, you write a bunch of blog posts on different blogs using AI, this is the easy part. But those blogs/posts need links and whatnot to rank. And this is the difficult part in SEO after all? How does autoblogging can help versus normal blogging? Ok for the content volume, but the problematic parts remain.

Auto-blogging can increase content frequency by targeting specific keywords, especially if you make sure the quality is high.

So the advantage is only "in-page" so to speak. I mean, content is king and all, but if people don't see it, it is useless. 20 years ago it was enough to spit out content to get in the SERP and with a clever balance in the keyword stuffing department, you could rank for the main keywords in your niche. But today it is more about the links than the content.

And I don't even want to imagine what machinery Google and friends have to plunder usage data from everywhere, even our smartphones.

For generating traffic to affiliate sites works.
For customer sites - too much risk.

Hi,

Is auto-blogging still something relevant for SEO or it's blacklisted by google now?
Google doesn't explicitly blacklist auto-blogging. But, they focus on rewarding high-quality content and penalizing low-quality practices. If your auto-generated content isn't valuable, it can hurt your SEO.

AI content is not allowed as started in the march 2024 spam update. sharing research content can help your website get more traffic but don't use this method for making money.

Nah...this kind of shit will be soon ignored by google and the website dies

to be honest, I have been reading negative comments about blackhat SEO since 2002, when I was working fulltime on affiliate marketing, building websites, SEO, etc... ( yeah at the time we made everything alone, no SEO agencies, no buying traffic except rare exceptions )

I remember when Google introduced Pagerank and the doomers started saying that it was the end

LLM written content is spottable to some extent, but let's remember that LLMs are progressing at a neckbreaking pace...the problem is that people use ChatGPT for their needs and clearly ChatGPT has a specific fingerprint, on which Google engineers train their algos

let's start using opensource alternatives like Ollama or even better the thousands of Ollama derivatives

just to put things into perspective and show a real case, everyone knows that Meta has recently introduced a sort of "made with AI" classifier, that should autonomously discover if posted photos/videos are made with AI or not

does it work? yes, for content produced by the commonly used tools

I have a bunch of Instagram, Facebook and Tiktok accounts of "virtual influencers". I have added no specific tags/infos about the content being created with AI ( for now there is no law or terms of service mandating it ), I am using a realistic variant of an opensource SDXL model called PonyXL. Long story short, I can use LoRAs of anime characters to create consistent real life photos of these characters. Of course with a bit of mixing to sidestep copyright and other shenanigans and a bit of img2img and inpainting to correct defects and make the photos more realistic.

Meta filters have marked ZERO of my photos as made with AI!!

the same is of course applicable to text generated with LLMs

p.s. there will be a time when Google will ban our made with AI content? yes, because they have smart people working h24 on spotting such content....and what will happen too? that a lot of human written content will be banned too, because incorrectly marked as being made with AI...I have seen this pattern over and over, with dozens of Google algos upgrades

my point? if you are Forbes or Bloomberg you can really work on long term SEO and have 90% of probability that your content will not be banned/penalized by some stupid algo upgrade....but if you are a small shop, problems will arrive sooner or later and you will lose, even though you did nothing wrong

point in case, after some of the algo upgrades spam content has gone up in the SERPs, while good content has been penalized!!! why? because the black hat SEOs found the formula to exploit the new algos, while the honest guys were left in the dust

I have 10 autoblogs with about 800 articles, more than 90% of this articles not indexed and I get 0 traffic (Google analytics shows 120 visitors last month for all 10 autoblogs, most of them are my visits or bots).
The articles are generated by gpt-4 with at least 500 words.

Imho you should try adding articles made with different LLMs. Also pay attention to the posting frequency, because if it is too high it is a big red flag.

Another wild variable is backlinks. Back in time there was a mantra that you needed good backlinks to rank. Now some SEO folks talk of ranking sites with no backlink at all or very few. Honestly I don't know who is right, but at best a site can rank for low volume long tail keywords without backlinks.
